Chicago Clinic Builds Relationship With Physicians
Downtown Chicago Outpatient Rehab Clinic Builds Solid Relationship With Local Physicians Following Implementation of OccuCare’s Online Assessment Application
C.O.R.E. Center for Orthopedic Rehabilitation Excellence in downtown Chicago opened their doors in 2004 and soon after wanted to implement higher level functional testing for their workers’ compensation clients. David Reavy, PT, MBA, OCS owner of C.O.R.E. was looking for a local company with the experience to assist in the implementation of services designed to return the injured worker to gainful employment.
“OccuCare offered the most comprehensive suite of services that we felt was designed perfectly for our new practice in downtown Chicago. We looked at other systems that were available to us but this was the most reasonably priced system and offered the most options in regards to testing” reported David.
C.O.R.E. was able to use sample reports from the Online Assessment Application while performing marketing runs to local orthopedic physicians and these physicians were impressed with the reports enough that they began referring many of their FCE’s to C.O.R.E. These FCE referrals then turned into more outpatient therapy referrals. These patients then would have a Functional Progress Notes™ performed during therapy which was sent to the Dr and in turn greater trust and referrals.
Laura Hallman, MA, OTR/L performs many of the industrial rehab services and reports “I enjoy using the software to perform the reports because it is very easy to navigate and the documentation is so simple and fast”. “Following the four days of training I was able to begin performing high level FCE’s the next day”.
C.O.R.E. continues to grow and expand with continued referrals not only for outpatient services but for specialized FCE testing and work conditioning. Many local physicians have steered their patients towards therapy services at C.O.R.E. specifically because they know they will get the best functional return to work documentation in Chicago.
